About the Project

STICS — Smart Transformation & Innovation Consortium Slovakia

STICS is building Slovakia’s innovation ecosystem by connecting research, practice, and municipalities to create modern, sustainable regions. Funded by the European Union under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (NextGenerationEU, Grant No. 09I02-03-V01-00011), the project brings together 24 international partners across 5 key sectors to turn data sharing between municipalities, businesses, academia, and civil society into real, working tools — smart applications and services built on AI, big data, edge computing, and distributed ledger technologies.

True to its own motto — “Short project, big impact” — STICS is designed to spark changes with long-term sustainability rather than pursue research for its own sake.
